We've raised $0 for our marches between now and the convention

We're having a march/BBQ on the 4th of July at Lake Merritt in Oakland. The cost (including a $300 refundable deposit) is $570 One of the organizers is putting up her own money. We're had to forget about sound and beer and wine because the permits are too much. This will focus on the Robinhood Tax

We're marching in the San Francisco Pride Parade with Jane Kim, a great woman who supports Senator Sanders and is running for State Senate http://janekim.org

However, we've had to forego our plan to have a booth at Pride Fest that would have focused on ending citizens United. The cost for a spot is $240 plus $285 for the canopy.

This is our co-chair and her vision

I will donate something later on Mary. Great to see all the Berniecrats running now. We have a great candidate running for Cong a coupled of districts away from us in NY, Zephyr Teachout. I'm hoping Bernie will come to campaign for her so I can finally get to see him. He endorsed her and I think she is going to win.

I'm confused about what the fundraising is for? You mean the bbq or the flight out to convention? Either way I'm pretty tapped out on my low income. But I'd love to attend the BBQ at Lake Merritt and MEET you!! That would be AWESOME. But if the cost for the bbq is the $$$ mentioned above, no can do. :(

Please do! I'll post the details tonight. Off to another planning meeting

The funds are for the BBQ and, hopefully, other marches.

I completely understand. Everyone is tapped out. This has been an expensive campaign for everyone

Please come. I would love to meet you!

Good luck fundraising. I'd like to chip in, but I've dropped close to $2500 I didn't really have to spend on vet bills in the last couple of months. Still trying to dig out of the hole.

Is your animal friend okay, I hope?

Not really, but we're hoping we can shepherd her through the latest acute crisis. A month and a half back or so, both dogs found and ate something repulsive, which gave them whipworms, giardia, and clostridia perfringens, leaving both of them with horrible gastrointestinal issues that we thought we had resolved after fluids, pain meds, and a few weeks of antibiotics. The older one, though, has had chronic anemia issues for quite a while, with no real signs of why. Between those two, she's currently fighting with a thickened, probably inflamed section of bowel that's preventing much of her food from passing, leaving her stomach filled with acid and undigested food far too long, and, based on the latest emesis, probably with a gastric bleed that's seriously aggravating the anemia issues. We just today figured that last part out by piecing together things that the various vets said without putting the pieces together themselves. The first vet noticed something odd about what she thought was a section of bowel in the x-rays, while the second suggested based on ultrasounds that a section of bowel was thickened and commented that her stomach looked pretty full, even though we knew she hadn't eaten in quite a while. But none of us connected those dots, because the vets were looking more for cancer, organ disease, or blood diseases.

So right now, she's just getting pain meds, dosed with a high-density nutrient paste in hopes that it can pass the narrowed bowel section, and waiting til Monday to speak with the vet again, and probably get her onto some strong anti-inflammatory steroids as a next step.

Will there be a thread about the meetup on the 4th? I just might be able to make it, and even bring a friend or two.
